Redskins Confirm Aldrick Robinson's Return

Posted Feb 7, 2014

Earlier this week, the Washington Redskins re-signed exclusive-rights free agent WR Aldrick Robinson to the 2014 squad. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Washington Redskins confirmed the re-signing of exclusive-rights free agent wide receiver Aldrick Robinson earlier this week.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

An exclusive-rights free agent is an NFL player who is not under contract, but has only two years of NFL experience.

Robinson was selected in the sixth round (178th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft, but spent most of his rookie season on the team's practice squad, earning a promotion at season's end.

Exclusive-rights free agents cannot negotiate with other teams, and must choose between that team or nothing.

Robinson has shown flashes of excellence in his first two seasons on the field, hauling in 11 receptions in 15 games for 237 yards (21.5-yard average) and three touchdowns in 2012.

He exceeded those totals with 18 receptions in 16 games for 365 yards (20.3-yard average), and a pair of touchdowns in 2013.

He will be reunited with wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard, who worked closely with Robinson during his breakout 2012 campaign.
