Breast Cancer Awareness

Breast Cancer Awareness

Think Pink!

During the month of October, the Washington Redskins collaborate with Zeta Tau Alpha to promote Breast Cancer Awareness through the initiative, ‘A Crucial Catch’. During the annual Breast Cancer Awareness game, fans are welcomed by Mrs. Tanya Snyder, the NFL Breast Cancer Spokesperson, and hundreds of members of Zeta Tau Alpha who distribute THINK PINK! ribbons and breast cancer awareness education materials as fans enter FedExField.

All-Star Survivors Celebration

The Redskins Charitable Foundation and the American Cancer Society host an annual All-Star Survivors Celebration for 31 area women currently battling breast cancer. The All-Stars are treated to a personal make-up consultation, massage therapy, new jeans from Gap Inc., wigs, scarves and a private tour of Redskins Park lead by Redskins players and wives.

Friday Night Lights: Think Pink!

In an effort to promote Breast Cancer Awareness, local high school football matchups are selected to be “pinked out,” complete with the same pink equipment used during the Redskins’ BCA game. In addition to an honorary Redskins captain attending each game for the coin toss, each high school is provided with other pink game attire donated by the Redskins Charitable Foundation and pink t-shirts to sell to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

Redskins Breast Cancer Awareness T-shirts

During the 2015 season, the Redskins Charitable Foundation launched a new T-shirt campaign to encourage fans to Think Pink™ and raise awareness about the importance of annual screenings. Fans were able to purchase these limited edition BCA t-shirts online and at games during the month of October. Net proceeds benefited the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation to support breast cancer education, research, and efforts to increase awareness about early detection, as well as the American Cancer Society.

Stay tuned for the unveiling of the 2016 t-shirt design and help us as we continue to raise awareness about breast cancer.
